Gleneagles Golf Club is a Public, 9 hole golf course located in San Francisco, California. More specifically, Gleneagles is located in southeast San Francisco in a corner of McLaren Park (which is named for John McLaren, the man who created Golden Gate Park).
Gleneagles Golf Club first opened for play in 1962. The course was designed by Jack Fleming, who also served on Dr. Alister Mackenzie’s team that created Cypress Point. Robert Muir Graves redesigned the course in 1982.
The Gleneagles Golf Course features a Scottish influence because of its hilly terrain. The tree-lined fairways are tight and hilly, and the conditions are usually windy. The course is home to an eclectic mix of players who love the grit and grind of the hilly nine-hole layout. Aptly dubbed “the toughest nine holes in America,” Gleneagles will test anyone’s game.
Par for the course is 36. From the back tees, the course plays to 3,006 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 6, a par-5 that plays to 577 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 8, a par-3 that plays to 152 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 6, a 577-yard par-5 challenge is the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 8, the 152 yard par-3.
There are additional tees that can be used at Gleneagles Golf Club for those wanting to play a double loop eighteen hole round.

Great layout, will never be well maintained for several reasons. Definitely worth playing.
